FAQs

Q: Will this macerator pump fit the standard 3-inch waste outlet on my RV or trailer?

A: Yes, it features a universal 3-inch fitting that locks securely onto most standard RV waste valves.

Q: Can I use this pump to discharge waste uphill or over a distance?

A: With a 10ft lift head and 12GPM flow rate, MP-12D provides enough pressure to move waste vertically or through long hoses. It’s the perfect solution when the camp sewer inlet is positioned higher than your RV's outlet.

Q: How well does it handle bathroom waste?

A: Using a wear-resistant NBR impeller, MP-12D will macerate and pump all waste and tissue normally found in the RV waste systems. Please note that it will not handle hard, solid objects, sanitary napkins, or rags.

Q: How sensitive is this model to dry running?

A: To protect the internal seals and motor, avoid dry running for more than 15 seconds. And do not run the pump for more than 15 minutes continuously. We recommend turning the power off as soon as the flow stops.

Q: My previous pump kept blowing fuses during use. Does this model have better electrical protection?

A: We’ve upgraded to a 25A ATO zinc alloy fuse and professional automotive-grade wiring. This setup handles initial power surges better than fragile glass fuses, ensuring the pump stays powered even when handling thicker waste.

Q: What should I do if the pump is blocked or stuck by foreign objects?

A: Remove the bearing cover at the rear of the motor and use a flat-head screwdriver to turn the motor shaft clockwise to release the impeller. And the blade will rotate to expel the obstruction. Rinse with water afterwards.

Q: How do I maintain the macerator pump daily?

A: Rinse the pump with fresh water after each use. Do not pump hard objects or non-degradable items. Avoid dry running and long continuous operation. Drain residual water before winter storage and keep it in a dry place.

Q: Pump runs but there is no water or weak flow?

A: Inspect hoses for kinks, check for airlocks, and ensure all connections are secure. Straighten any kinked hoses and tighten loose fittings. Flush the system with fresh water to clear air pockets and debris.
